Our Mission
During college, I began serving the community by creating more inclusive spaces on campus through Best Buddies. That work opened my eyes to something deeper: behind every person with special needs is a family searching for belonging, aching for support, and praying for someone to say, "You're not alone." The world may not always have a seat prepared for Sami and Eli, but we can always build a chair and add to our table.
And in that gap between what is and what could be, a dream began to grow.
I envisioned Elijah's Flour & Oil as more than a bakery and coffee shop in Dahlonega, Georgia. I envisioned a place where people of all abilities wouldn't just be accepted, but embraced. A place where families who've fought battles in silence would finally find rest. A place where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities could not only find meaningful employment, but dignity, community, purpose, and friendship.
Through handcrafted sourdough bread, fresh baked goods, specialty coffee, matcha, and genuine hospitality, we hope every person who walks through our doors experiences something greater than a meal. We hope they experience belonging.
I don't want to build just a business. I want to build a movement. A daily expression of love, patience, and purpose.
A place where independence is supported with compassion.
Where resilience is honored with time.
Where every person, no matter their ability, is seen as fully human and wholly worthy.
Because everyone deserves a place to belong.
Everyone deserves to be treated with patience and respect.
Everyone deserves to know they have a purpose.
At Elijah's Flour & Oil, our mission is to serve the Dahlonega and North Georgia community by creating an inclusive space where families gather, friendships are formed, meaningful employment is celebrated, and every person is welcomed with open arms. Around our table, there is always room for one more.
